Data controller: Music DNA Studio (independent operator) · Contact: musicdnastudio@proton.me
1. What we collect (and what we never do)
Your audio is never collected. The Music DNA Studio runs 100% in your browser. Audio files you load are decoded and analyzed locally on your device via the Web Audio API — they are never uploaded, transmitted, stored, or processed on our servers. No audio fingerprints or personal media data are collected in any form.
The only personal data we collect is the email address you voluntarily provide. It is used for two possible purposes, depending on what you choose:
- Prompt delivery (always): to send the prompt history you requested to your inbox — one transactional delivery per request.
- Feature updates & marketing (only if you opt in): if you tick the separate "Stay tuned for updates" checkbox, we deliver your prompt history and also add your email to our newsletter list, kept by our email processor (see Section 2), to send occasional product updates, tips, news, and promotional marketing information and materials (such as offers and partner deals). This consent is optional, unticked by default, separate from the prompt delivery, and can be withdrawn at any time via the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email or by contacting us.
2. How your email is processed
- Instant processing: when you submit the request, your email address and the text metadata of your prompts (e.g., BPM, genre tags) are passed securely to our automated email delivery service to send your prompt.
- Processor: email delivery and (if you opt in) newsletter list management are performed by our email processor, Brevo, solely to deliver your messages.
- No selling or sharing: we will never sell, rent, trade, or share your email address with third parties so they can market to you directly. The only marketing emails you receive from us are the promotional materials described above, sent by our processor on our behalf under your consent.
- Data retention: transactional prompt-delivery logs are deleted within 30 days. Newsletter subscriptions are retained until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you. Proof of consent (opt-in timestamp and the IP address used at signup) is retained for 3 years to comply with applicable anti-spam law.
3. Cookies & local storage
The tool stores your engine selection, vocal mode, and prompt history in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us. We may use temporary cookies or anonymized IP rate-limiting to prevent automated bots from abusing the free email delivery system.
Anonymous visit measurement: we use the cookieless analytics built into our hosting platform (Vercel Web Analytics) to count page views and see aggregate referrers, countries, and device types. This measurement sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, does not fingerprint visitors, and produces records that cannot reasonably be linked to you. It never sees your audio, your prompts, or your email address.
4. Third-party services
The site is hosted on Vercel and uses standard web infrastructure (CDN, DNS). The AI music platforms referenced by the tool (e.g., Eleven Music, Stable Audio, Soundraw, Mubert, Beatoven, AIVA) are independent services with their own privacy policies; when you paste a generated prompt into one of those platforms, your interaction is governed by their terms and privacy policies, not ours.
Affiliate links: the tool features optional links to independent third-party tools. In brief: partner tools are independent and optional, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you, and we never receive your audio. See Terms of Use, Section 4, for the full affiliate disclosure.
Neural audio classification (YAMNet): when you analyze a track, the tool may additionally run an optional audio-classification pass using the YAMNet model (developed by Google LLC, © 2019 The TensorFlow Authors, Apache License 2.0 — see the Terms of Use, Section 10, for the full notice). This pass runs entirely in your browser: your audio is never uploaded for it, and no audio, embeddings, or classification results are transmitted to us or to the model's publisher. Only the resulting descriptive tags (e.g., mood or genre hints) are stored locally like the rest of your prompt history, and downloading the model from a public CDN exposes your IP address to that CDN in the same way as loading any web resource.
5. Your rights (access & removal)
You retain full control over your data. We do not build user profiles or tracking databases, and no account is required to use the tool. To confirm the removal of your email from our transactional logs, or to ask any question about your data, contact us at musicdnastudio@proton.me and we will action your request promptly.
6. Children's privacy
The tool is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us an email address, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version. Continued use of the tool after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
